Suggested Itinerary
Arrive in Copenhagen and check into the Hotel Absalon (or similar) for a 3-night stay. Then, head out to explore the best Copenhagen has to offer, taking in the beautiful harbour at Nyhavn, a boat trip on the harbour itself and the magical Little Mermaid statue.
Wind down in the evenings with a visit to the iconic Tivoli Gardens, situated right opposite the main station.
After breakfast this morning make your way to Copenhagen H station, the main transport hub of the city. Here, a shiny silver SJ2000 train will be waiting to whisk you over the Oresund Bridge and into Sweden, then past coniferous woodlands and clear lakes as you make your way north to the Swedish capital.
Check in at the Nordic Light Hotel (or similar) right opposite the station.
Enjoy two full days in the glorious city of Stockholm. We recommend a boat cruise through the harbour and perhaps an open-top bus tour to get your bearings and transfer between fabulous sights such as the ABBA Museum, Vasa Museum and the gorgeous Gamla Stan area with its cobbled streets and pavement cafes.
Head back to Stockholm Central station for a mid-morning departure on the InterCity service which takes you inland through the heart of Sweden and across the border into Norway. By around 3pm you glide into Oslo’s main station and head to the Scandic Victoria (or similar) for a 3-night stay.
During your time in Oslo, be sure not to miss the spectacular Viking Ship Museum as well as the impressive Royal Palace if you’re visiting in summer. Also, why not take in a performance at the contemporary Opera House on the waterfront in the heart of the city?
Your holiday ends today as you check out of your hotel in Oslo and head to your onward transportation. Alternatively, we can arrange for travel elsewhere in Norway, such as the beautiful line towards Trondheim, or the Flåm Railway, part of the Norway in a Nutshell itinerary – ask one of the team for more details.
